Recently my daughter’s friend and Kindergarten classmate, Ansley Smith,  was diagnosed with Stage 3 Rhabdomyosarcoma, which is cancer. My heart sunk when Berlin told me “Ansley has cancer.” My first thought was that it was just kids talking and it couldn’t be the case. I immediately emailed her teacher in hopes of it all being some horrible schoolyard rumor. Unfortunately, that was not the case.  My first thought was, “what if this was Berlin, or Ebba, or Benham? What would I do?” The answer? “I have no idea!” I cannot begin to understand what it is like to be the parent of a child with cancer. The only thing I do know, is that if I were in their shoes I would hope that others would help me get through it.

I started thinking of ways that I could help out the family and decided that my upcoming Candy Shop themed mini sessions, on June 7th,  would be a great way to raise some money for them! I was planning to do them anyway, but once I created the event “Candy for Ansley,” the response was overwhelming! Each session is 15 minutes long and costs $50, all of which will go directly to the Smith family. As of today, I have 14 spots filled. Along with other donations, we are up to $820. I am fully expecting to fill those last two spots and be able to hand over a check for $1000 to the family 🙂 I am so proud of my clients, family and friends for stepping up and helping this family. You all are amazing!!!

My friend, Andy McCloy, who is the owner of BCI (Body Creations Inc.) has also decided to hold a Charity Boot Camp titled “Fight For Ansley.” This will take place on June 7th as well and goes from 10-11am. There is a minimum donation of $10 and all proceeds go to the Smith family. This is sure to be a fun event, with a dj and all! It’s a great way to get your sweat on for a good cause! Please join the facebook event under “Fight For Ansley” Also, if you are looking for a new workout program, BCI has an awesome Metabolic Blast Boot Camp for adults!!!

Please come out and join us at one of these events! If you are unable to attend but would still like to make a donation, please head over to
